This is an exceptional set of chessmen crafted by Italian artisans in Italy. This set will become the centerpiece of any room. The pieces are solid brass/silver plated with maple/walnut in between, the pieces are referred to as "satin brass" meaning the pieces are spun ever so gently so they have the look and feel of satin. The chess board is crafted of elm, root, birdseye maple and briarwood from Italy there is a striking black onyx color trim around the boarder of the squares. This is a beautiful chess set to leave on display just as one would display a fine piece of crystal.
